With the new AQUOS D44E series, Sharp makes it possible for everyone to enter the world of HD
London, 13 March 2008 – Sharp Electronics (UK) Ltd has launched three new AQUOS HD-ready LCD TVs to impress with their chic design and brilliant image quality. With sizes of 37, 32 and 26 inches, the D44E series affords anyone the 16:9 format home cinema experience.
The models in the new AQUOS D44E series – LC-26D44E, LC-32D44E and LC-37D44E – make a truly sharp impression with a resolution of 1,366 x 768 pixels and a contrast ratio of 10,000:1.
LCD technology pioneer Sharp is expanding its HD-ready entry range with the D44E series in its signature lacquer piano black design and introducing a new silver-grey colour design. Alongside are highly sophisticated features that, for this price category, are set to impress including Quick Shoot technology for fast-moving images.
The D44E series’ panel has a high luminance of 470-500 candelas per square metre to ensure brilliant colour display. Optical image control developed by Sharp automatically adapts screen brightness to the ambient lighting conditions to reproduce clear and natural images in any setting.
Other key features include:
* 176 degree viewing angle
* 6 m/s response time
* Enhanced programme overview with image-split and image-in-text functions
* Freeze-frame function to keep a favourite scene on screen
* Built-in DVB-T and analogue tuner for all-round TV reception
* 2 SCART sockets and the HDMI inputs with HDCP support
* YUV, AV/S Video IN, VGA IN and Audio OUT sockets
In addition the acoustic features of the new D44E series from Sharp are in no way inferior to the image quality. The automatic volume control keeps sound at the desired preset volume and two 10-watt loudspeaker systems, with built-in digital amplifier, allow a sound experience equal to the sharp images.
The 26-inch and 32-inch models are available in the UK from late March 2008 in black (LC-26D44 EBK RRP £499, LC-32D44 EBK RRP £599) and in silver-grey (LC-26D44 EGY RRP £499, LC-32D44 EGY RRP £599). The 37-inch version (LC-37D44 EBK) will be on sale (black only) in the UK from July 2008. Pricing is not yet confirmed for this model.
