Rapha Condor Sharp Unveils New Professional Cycling Team for 2010
Thursday January 28th 2010, 6:00 pm
This post was published in our Sharp Electronics UK category.

London, 28th January 2010 – Today saw the official launch of the Rapha Condor Sharp professional cycling team, and the new team kit and bike for 2010. This follows the announcement in December 2009 that Sharp UK was taking on a major sponsorship role with the team, with Rapha Condor changing its name to Rapha Condor Sharp.

As a world-leader in consumer electronics, Sharp was keen to find sponsorship partners with a similar hunger to be the best in their field. Sharp has a long and successful history of sports sponsorship in the UK, and sees professional cycling as offering new and exciting opportunities in a booming sport that remains accessible to its many fans. Sharp UK is fully committed to working with the Rapha Condor Sharp team to maximise its performance and consolidate and build on their position as the UK’s leading pro-continental team.

Speaking on the eve of the launch, Sharp UK’s managing director, Paul Molyneux said:

“This is a fantastically exciting time to get involved in professional cycling in the UK, and the professionalism and vision of the Rapha Condor Sharp set-up made this an especially attractive proposition. Sharp is launching a significant number of new products in 2010, which will include some real technological firsts. As well as the excellent synergy we see between the main sponsor brands, the profile of the people involved in cycling fits the profile of the people we want to expose our brand to.â€

Sharp first began their relationship with Rapha Condor in the summer of 2009 through its ongoing partnership with the Prostate Cancer Charity. The Sharp4Prostate logo appeared on the team jersey at the Tour of Ireland and the Tour of Britain, helping promote the Sharp4Prostate message through the cycling community.

As the culmination of the Sharp4Prostate campaign, Paul Molyneux and 3 co-riders will be taking part in the gruelling Race Across America (RAAM) later this year, with sponsorship and donations contributing towards the company’s £100,000 fundraising target.
