Sharp has unveiled the UX-D50, its first fax machine to incorporate a DECT phone. The perfect communication centre for the small office, the UX-D50 combines a fax, telephone and answer phone service within one compact, stylish unit and will be available in the UK from Autumn 2003.

Marketing manager for SoHo products, Mark Klein commented, The UX-D50 is an extremely competitive product in terms of both pricing and functionality. It is tailored perfectly for use in small offices whether it is a department within a blue chip corporation, a satellite outpost, or for use in the office at home. The combination of a DECT digital cordless phone, along with an integrated handset, plus built-in answering machine ensures that an important business call is never missed.

Styled to compliment any office, the UX-D50 reflects modern tastes, with a black console and silver DECT phone. An intercom facility between the two handsets provides extra flexibility allowing calls to be transferred from one to the other. The phones have a paging function to keep in touch and users sharing the UX-D50 can communicate with each other via the two handsets. GAP compatibility enables each room or office to have its own additional handset if required. For ease of use the DECT phone shares the directory of the fax machine.

When users are unable to answer calls either because they are in meetings or off-duty callers can leave a message on the UX-D50 s integrated answer machine.

The UX-D50 has all the features expected of a Sharp fax machine a generous 50 sheet paper capacity and 24 page memory, plus a multi-copy facility of up to 99 sheets, with the option to enlarge or reduce the original from 50% - 135%, along with polling, broadcasting and anti-junk functions.

Available from a range of high street and independent resellers, the UX-D50 has an RRP of 169 including VAT.
