Sharp Pumps Up the Volume

Anyone who needs the capabilities and print volumes of a copy shop, in-house, should look no further than the Sharp AR-651 or AR-810 printer copiers. Launching in the UK in October, the two new models offer huge flexibility, copying and printing at speeds of 65 and 81 pages per minute (ppm) respectively.

The AR-651 and AR-810 complete Sharp s copier printer line up, which runs from 10 81ppm, ranging from products for the desktop through medium volume corporate users to heavy duty, centralised reprographics. Part of the highly acclaimed Sharp AR series, the AR-651 and AR-810 have the easy-to-use console design familiar to all Sharp products and a large operation panel to assist sight impaired users.

What sets the AR-651 and AR-810 apart is their reliability, explained Peter Mackie, Product Marketing Manager for Document Solutions. The units offer the high volume and functionality of large, dedicated reprographics products, yet are compact enough to fit any office workspace.

Sharp has a reputation for building products specifically designed with their users in mind. A year ago, Sharp launched the AR-M350 and AR-M450, modular MFDs offering a range of optional functions, which can be specified at the time of ordering. This is echoed by the launch of the two high volume products, which are packed with an impressive array of features, allowing them to be configured to match the user s exact requirements.

Mackie continued, The AR-651 and AR-810 are perfect for a general office, CRD (centralised reprographics department) or print for pay environment, having a range of features which add flexibility and boost productivity.

Each product can hold up to 7,600 sheets, the equivalent of 15 500-sheet reams, and can finish up to 4,000 sheets, drastically reducing the amount of user intervention required saving time and money. Where complicated documents such as brochures, manuals and other large documents are to be created, the AR-651 and AR-810 enable the job to be kept in-house. The two units are capable of printing on heavier paper, up to a maximum of 209gsm, and offering a tab-print facility to add typed headings directly onto tabbed dividers, for a truly professional finish.

The inserter option allows pre-printed pages up to 256gsm to be interleaved within a document, for example to form a booklet cover, which may then be saddle-stitched, punched or stapled, ready for use. The AR-651 and AR-810 are capable of collating sophisticated booklets, using a variety of pages from pre-printed colour covers, black and white illustrations, printed tabbed dividers, ready-made colour inserts and standard mono sheets. These can then be hole punched ready for insertion into a ring binder, enabling the creation of high quality presentation documents such as sales manuals, induction packs or training guides to be undertaken in-house.

The AR-651 and AR-810 are offered with a print controller, which employs EFI technology, already available with Sharp s colour products, providing a complete high-speed mono and colour product line up.

The same print controller may also be upgraded to provide flexible network scanning compatible with SharpFind, Sharp s unique document storage and retrieval system.

The AR-651 and AR-810 copier printers are available through the national Sharp dealer network. For more information on Sharp please contact the Sharp Customer Information Helpline on 0800 138 8879.
