When it comes to style and sophistication in the kitchen, aluminium is the new stainless steel. That’s according to Sharp Electronics, which is launching its new range of sleek, high performance aluminium combination ovens.
Stainless-steel has long been seen as the ultimate in designer chic for kitchen appliances, whether it be the fridge, kettle, or microwave oven. Now Sharp is going a step further with two aluminium ovens which are set to lead the trend for this new, ultra-modern look.
The family-size R-795 double grill combination oven and R-895 double grill convection oven, both in aluminium, feature a clean, angular design with curved door handle and unfussy control panel, bringing up-to-the-minute looks to the modern kitchen.
The ovens’ stunning appearance is matched by high-power performance thanks to some unique Sharp cooking innovations. The 900W R-795 has a 26 litre interior with 1850W double grill and 40-200 C oven for impressive cooking flexibility. The double grill crisps and browns food from above and below, a facility which comes into its own with the
R-795’s Instant Cook pizza and cooked breakfast keys, which give excellent results for fresh or frozen pizza or the traditional sausage, bacon and eggs.
Fancy a roast but forgot to take the joint out of the freezer? The R-795’s Express Cook option cooks roast beef, lamb or poultry from frozen quickly and easily including a roast chicken from frozen in less than 50 minutes. Express Cook is similarly adept at cooking up ready meals or crispy potatoes.
Equally handy is the Express Defrost feature, which can defrost meat joints, whole poultry or chicken quarters faster than conventional microwave defrosting. An additional Auto Cook button takes the guesswork out of cooking fish and chips, breaded foods or baked potatoes simply enter the menu and weight and the R-795 calculates the correct cooking time and power level.
The R-895 boasts yet more facilities, not least a 40-250 C convection oven so it can cook just as wide a range of foods as a standard oven. Along with the pizza and cooked breakfast Instant Cook keys, the R-895 has a total of nine Express Cook menus, with pie/quiche, dessert and rice/pasta options in addition to the R-795’s menus. The R-895 also has Express Defrost, and replaces the R-795’s Auto Cook facility with a Meal in One choice of Indian, Chinese or Italian meal cooked at the touch of a button.
The R-795 and R-895 are available from August.
