Sharp Electronics, the company which brought the first personal digital copier to the UK, has announced the launch of four new copier printers, designed specifically for the SoHo environment.
Expanding the highly successful AL series, Sharp has announced the arrival of the AL-1043, AL-1252, AL-1452 and AL-1551. Available from January 2002, the new ALs are high quality digital laser copier printers with a compact footprint, perfect for the smaller workgroup.
Peter Mackie, Product Marketing Manager for Mono commented, Sharp invests heavily in developing products with a specific environment in mind, ensuring that businesses can buy the most suitable product for their needs. The latest additions to the AL series are no exception to this rule combining excellent copier functionality with high quality laser printing.
The embedded GDI printer interface allows each of the ALs to be connected direct to a PC, providing an efficient 12ppm print speed at 600 dpi. As a copier, the series provides copies per minute speeds ranging from 10 for the AL-1043 to 15 for the AL-1551. The first copy time of 9.6 seconds and instant warm up facility will improve productivity, saving time when waiting for a job to complete.
Where photographs of important documents are being duplicated the digital automatic / manual exposure control helps create superior copies from the original whilst the zoom range of between 50% to 200% allows the size of the duplicate to be altered, as required.
Each model is fitted with a generous paper holding capacity to keep time consuming re-stocking to a minimum. Where specialist paper is used, the AL series allows heavy paper or envelopes to be printed and copied.
The AL-1252, AL-1452 and AL1551 have a document feeder, ideal in offices where multi-page documents are copied. The AL-1551 also features a standard automatic one-pass duplex system allowing double-sided documents to be copied and printed quickly.
The AL-1043, AL-1252, AL-1452 and AL-1551 will be available from office equipment suppliers and retailers in January. For further information please contact the Sharp Customer Helpline on 0800 138 8879 or visit the Sharp web-site at www.sharp.co.uk.
